Female Prisoner Retransferred to Ward 209 in Evin

A female Kurdish Prisoner named Shirin Alamhoobi (Roonahi Rookan) has been placed in the ward 209 of Evin ahead of her upcoming trial. She has been charged with waging war against God, a crime punishable by death sentence.
Based of the reports received , the political activist who has been detained in Evin since June 2008, was transferred to the ward 209 of Evin from the public women’s ward ahead of her upcoming trial. Her charges include membership in a Kurdish political party and armed struggle against the state.
Alamahoobi who is from the city of Mako in Kurdistan will be tried by the revolutionary court of Tehran shortly. Her charges could result in capital punishment and she has been denied to choose her defense attorney. |
